Burke sues Larry Brooks
Former Vancouver Canucks general manager Brian Burke has filed suit against NY Post columnist Larry Brooks following a column Brooks wrote about Burke's role in the Todd Bertuzzi incident.I sounded off at the time against the garbage Brooks had written, and it's nice to see Burke pursuing these legal avenues. Tom Benjamin, however, said I was the one making the ridiculous assertion. Not that he'd now admit he was wrong."We can't wait until Burke is asked under oath whether he personally challenged the team to get Moore between periods of the March 8, 9-2 Avalanche victory – that's been the hearsay on the street for months, by the way – or whether he has knowledge of any Canuck employee having done so," Brooks wrote in a part of the column that was included in the legal filing.
I think we'll see through this case who was correct. And perhaps Brooks will take a trip to j-school for what is likely the first time.
UPDATE It's sort of interesting how I predicted Brooks' legal trouble in the aforementioned post. Guess Ryerson's media law class taught me well. If only Larry would have attended.

I hope it ends like "A Few Good Men" with Burke charging Brooks and saying "You f***ed with the wrong Marine!"
Unlikely, but it would be a good time. Oh yeah, Mirtle? right. Tom Benjamin? Go get Mirtle a sandwich, punk.
Nice call, but slow your roll. What if Brooks' source pans out?
