The remains of Dany Heatley's Ferrari on eBay
Jes Golbez linked to pictures of the wreckage of Dany Heatley's Ferrari Spider. Since the eBay auction is closed, I figured I better grab a copy of the photo for my own.
For some reason, the image is both maddening and sad in equal doses.

Just sickening.
There was a site a few years ago that had a picture of Jonathan Girard's car, post-accident in 2003. I think it was the site for the local volunteer firefighters/ambulance squad that rescued him, and it was for their log of local rescues, not an auction. I saved the picture, but have long since forgotten the site.
It's disgusting that people post things like this for sale, but at the same time, it's utterly fascinating to see the depths to which the depravity of others will sink.
It's entirely possible that the owner of the salvage yard doesn't know the story behind the car. It's not as if it's being advertised as Heatley's Ferrari. I can't hold it against the seller if he's just trying to make a living without exploiting anyone.
DONT YOU GUYS KNOW WHAT PRIVACY IS JUST LEAVE HIM ALONE
The last commenter must be an Ottawa or Heatley fan. I think privacy goes out the window when you drive down a public road at obnoxious speeds and someone dies.
you guys dont even no him like i do and what a great guy he is so dont be so qucik to judge
ok c'mon leave the guy alone dont you think he just want's to forget this? i mean think about it
it was just an accident don't blame him for it too much
give your heads a shake...you saw heatley clearly tramatized after what had happened...did you not see him in the news?
you guys should stop being mean to Dany it was a mistake and your punishment is Heatley is amazing and happy with the senators and you Atlanta thrashers suck so get better you rude mean dumb stupid morons...
you morons Dany Heatley played amazing and because his mistake you traded him so thats your punishment for being mean to him when it was a mistake so say sorry and Atlanta thrashers learn to play hockey.
Accidents like this happen alot over the world in one day, just because someone famous is involved, suddenly everyone has to invade Dany's privacy, and his life.
yeah, and when these accidents happen all over the world, it's called vehicular homicide, which he'd either be in jail for, or hung in some backwards country, probably. but since he's a pro athlete, the "first degree charge of vehicular homicide" charge was dropped, and he got a slap on the wrist with 3 years vehicular probation, for the cost of a life.
way to go douche. go wreck another car and kill yourself this time.
Amen to that final comment.
You can all say anything you want about how bad he felt... If I go out and kill someone while driving at ridiculous speeds they aren't going to let me off the hook... He got away with murder as far as I'm concerned..RIP Snyder
your just sad cause Thrashers suck they lost heatly and you just wish they didn't lose heatly
Dan A. Heatley got away with murder with killing his friend because he is a pro-athlete, plain and simple. Reports say he had well below the legal limit of alcohol which means he had been drinking and was travelling almost 3 times the speed limit and he gets probation..give me a break...SNYDER is in a box in the graound while HEATLEY is making millions playing hockey...he should be cleaning toilets in a truck stop somewhere.
Honestly? Leave him alone. People always want to judge pro athletes because of their status, and you know what? Yeah, some of them are assholes. But Heatley made a fatal mistake when he was young and immature and thought he was a god. Snyder's death was the result. Unfortunately, that is the ultimate lesson in life. You feel free to judge once you've done the same thing. Pro athletes or not, these people obviously don't want to get someone they love killed.
I, in truth, blame the institutions responsible for putting these young players on such high pedestals. They are mainly the ones to blame for these kids believing they have some sort of invincibility.
