Rem Murray's comeback attempt

Al Strachan is at the Detroit Red Wings training camp, and today he's penned a story about former Edmonton Oiler Rem Murray — last seen with the Nashville Predators — and his struggles with a rare disorder.
"Fortunately enough," he said, "a doctor on call was the leading expert in movement disorders. He diagnosed me with what's called cervical dystonia."

But a diagnosis is not a cure. The doctors knew what was wrong with Murray, but they didn't know what to do about it.

The situation worsened until his head slumped over to the left and rested on his shoulder.
I knew Murray had had injury problems last season, but this was one of the lockout stories I missed completely. Best of luck to him.

Caught my first pre-season game on tv last night and Rem Murray looked real good. 2;04 from start to finish.
2 line passes, I stopped counting at 7 (all resulted in nothing more than continuation of play without a face-off)
Shoot-outs to end a tie is a pathetic choice. Has nothing to do with team play. Might just as well have a home run hitting contest.
The NHL has now hit the big time, having their own designated hitter rule. Only the fans that don't understand Hockey support it. It sucked in the Olympics and it sucks in the NHL.

Iam glad to see you are back on the ice, you are a very strong player, having to overcome obstacles along the way. I too have cervical dystonia and am glad that botox is a way to help with this neurological disorder.

So sad that your NHL career is over now. I too have cervical dystonia and was a great athlete. I am just trying to get back to work in the health care field right now. Botox is my only way but would love to know how you could handle hockey with it, and who your specialist was. I think you are an inspiration to all people with dystonia and if you could ever get our disorder in the media more, it would be the best thing. We need a cure, and Michael J fox can't do much more with all the indignation and ignorance in the world. I just say, walk in my shoes one day, like you have and the world will understand. Keep positive, as we all are trying to. Thanx Rem for being a hero.
