Canada v. Russia (at Kamloops)

Now there's an odd headline. Team Canada faces Russia tonight in my hometown as part of the World Junior Championship, and the puck drop is just a few minutes away here. It's only an exhibition game, but Canada and Russia in Kamloops? Sounds can't miss to me.

I'll be blogging if anything interesting happens.

(As an aside, how about the unfortunate name of the rink back home, the Interior Savings Centre. Built before the 1993 Canada Summer Games, it was called Riverside Coliseum — it is, after all, beside the Thompson River — when I was there and had been since renamed SportMart Place. Interior Savings Centre? I think one would be hardpressed to find a more corporate-sounding name for a rink.)

Anything is better than the National Car Rental Center.

Not a very good showing by the Russians in that game, right? Sheesh....
