It's official: They're the Anaheim Ducks

We here saw it coming many a months ago, but only today was it offically announced.

The Anaheim Mighty Ducks are Mighty no more.

The NHL club said Friday it will change its name to the Anaheim Ducks starting next season, dropping Mighty from the moniker after nearly two thirds of fans surveyed said they supported the switch.

The team is also considering changes to its logo, identity and uniforms.

Good, good. This new ownership group hasn't taken long to win me over, what with hiring Brian Burke and dumping the ridiculous Mighty Ducks handle as soon as possible. There are, however, some serious, serious attendance issues for Anaheim, especially considering the team has played pretty well this season.
