Thornton back in Beantown
The Sharks are all over Boston in this game, but Joe Thornton's homecoming didn't go exactly as planned. Thornton was ejected from the game six minutes in for a hit from behind on Hal Gill.

I was watching it on TV, and I think the game misconduct penalty called on Thornton was bogus, based more on Gill getting pinned awkwardly and falling down afterwards than the actual hit itself.
It didn't seem to me like Thornton ran Gill directly from behind, but hit him from the side with more of a glancing blow.
Plus, Gill is something like 6'7" and 250 lbs. It would take a lot more than that to really crunch him against the boards.
The guy you should've received the 'intent to injure' ejection last night was Ryan Kesler.
