Boyes's special cheering section
There's a touching story in today's Globe and Mail about Boston Bruin Brad Boyes and how his 88-year-old grandfather, a Second World War veteran, is going to finally get a chance to see him play.
The Toronto Sun's Terry Koshan has a similar story here (although Boyes's grandfather is four years younger in this version)."It's so cool," an excited Brad Boyes said after the Bruins' practice yesterday. "I'm thrilled about it and I know he's really excited about it, too. It's tough to communicate verbally with my grandfather right now because of the stroke, but I went to visit him during the Olympic break and when I asked him about going to the game, you could see his face light up."
The younger Boyes has had a phenomenal rookie season this year, as he's on pace for 62 points. In year's past, that would have been Calder-worthy.
