Columbus announced as host of 2007 draft

The 2007 NHL draft will be hosted by the Columbus Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena, the team and league announced Tuesday.

The draft will be held Sat., June 23, 2007.

Columbus is a good choice, as considering the way GM Doug MacLean is building this team, they'll be picking rather high.

The 2006 NHL entry draft will be held in Vancouver, and given the blogging talent we've got based there, I'm assuming we'll have more than a few live casts come June.

The official word around here is that Columbus will make the play-offs next year. Of course, that was said about this year as well and we are one of the worst teams -again. Well, a fan can dream...
