These Ducks are mighty (Part 2)
Working nights, I don't get a ton of choice in the games I get to see every night. Last night, at least, there was a game between two teams in the thick of the playoff race, Anaheim and Nashville.
Turns out, it was a dud.
The final score may have been 6-3, but this one was the Ducks' from their four-goal second period on. The youngsters shone for Anaheim, especially Ryan Getzlaf (4 assists) and Corey Perry (1 beauty of a wraparound goal and 1 assist), and Teemu Selanne scored his 30th and 31st goals of the season.
With the way the Ducks are playing now, there's an excellent chance they'll take the 5th seed overall in the Western Conference, which will earn them a date with none other than the fourth-place Predators in the first round.
Nashville fans better hope their team has more in the tank then than they did on Friday.
I have a feeling we're going to be hearing a lot about Anaheim as a 'dark horse' team as the playoffs approach, but at this rate — 11-2-1 in the last 14 games — they won't be. They're one of the favourites.
