The Globe's playoff coverage

Day 1 of the NHL playoffs, and the coverage is ramping up in earnest on the sports desk. The Globe and Mail has reporters and columnists at almost every first-round series, meaning the paper is going to have all kinds of material coming most of the 16 cities.

Here's who's where for the opening games:

Eric Duhatschek and Allan Maki in Calgary
Stephen Brunt and David Naylor in Ottawa
Jim Christie in Detroit
Tim Wharnsby in Raleigh, North Carolina
David Shoalts in East Rutherford, New Jersey
Robert MacLeod in Buffalo, New York

Eight reporters/columnists in six different cities, with only the Dallas-Colorado and Nashville-San Jose series unattended. I don't know for sure, but I think that's the best representation of any newspaper for these playoffs.
