Havlat to play this week

Out since game 16 of the regular season with a shoulder injury, Martin Havlat will make his return to the Ottawa Senators lineup either on Thursday or Saturday. That means Havlat will play either two or three games prior to the playoffs — good news considering how beaten up the Sens are of late.
Defensemen Wade Redden (personal) and Zdeno Chara (bruised hand) are expected to miss Monday's game against Montreal. Goaltender Dominik Hasek (groin) are sidelined indefinitely. Defenseman Chris Phillips (left knee) is expected to be sidelined until at least late April.
Havlat was a pretty big part of the Senators run to the conference finals in 2003, as he finished second in team scoring with 11 points in 18 games.

Ottawa has lost their last three games and could use another scorer to perhaps help Tyler Arnason along, who has just four assists in 16 games since joining the Senators.

UPDATE Redden will return Tuesday from his personal leave to Lloydminster, Alberta/Saskatchewan. Best of luck to Redden's mother, who is battling an unidentified, serious illness.

The illness is brain cancer, which she's been battling for some time. Word is she's near the end, hence the long absence.
