On hold

I'm off to Ottawa until Monday and won't be watching much hockey or posting at all. A holiday for James — imagine that.

Enjoy the games.

We just need James to come back, predict against the Oilers, and then watch the Oilers prove him wrong just as they did in every other playoff series he's made a prediction involving them.

Every one of his prediction's reads something like "Yes, the oilers last series win was impressive and you have to pull for them but team x is far too talented to lose."

He did pick the Oil over the Sharks.

Yeah, if you're looking for ridiculous anti-Oiler predictions, go check out the playoffs section at ESPN. I remember enjoying Bucci's articles during this summer previous, but as the season came and wore on, it became obvious that he's just another (ESPN) opinionated empty-head. I think his most recent prediction was the Ducks in 5. I think James has been pretty good with trying to make unbiased predictions, assuming you overlook the New Jersey incident.

Hey, give the guy a break. He's part of the Toronto based media now, which means he is wholly incapable of having a positive take on anything related to Western Canada.

Good lord, sometimes I have to roll my eyes at my fellow, trolling Oilers fans.

Give the western alienation a rest: the last time I checked, the Prime Minister is FROM CALGARY, and no one in Toronto cares enough about Edmonton to hate it.

Ahh, the good old biased debate.

Being that I'm from the West and living in T.O., I think it's tying the conspiracy theorists in knots trying to figure out who I'm for or against.

As it should be.

(The real team I've slighted is the Sabres, who I picked to lose all three rounds so far. That is, unless Carolina beats them.)

If you're trying to track down some anti-Oiler sentiment, how about the TSN predictions. Only the monkey has picked Edmonton to win a series so far.
