Mowers is Boston bound

Spector poked a little fun at Boston's signing of former Red Wing Mark Mowers the other day, which is understandable given his small role in the NHL thus far in his career.

Still, Mowers has nice hands for a 3rd-line type and has put up some excellent numbers in the minors. He may be a 32-year-old journeyman, but I'll always remember the goal he scored against Calgary in 2003-04 that made's year-end Top 10 list (scroll to the 2:30 mark).

Besides, how many NHLers were born in Georgia?

I love that top ten list. I still get chills every time I watch the K-Ads goal, and I'm still dumbfounded that the Afenogenov goal was #6. I've been saying for some time that it really should have been the #1 goal.

Man, that Dan Pollard is death warmed over. Why is it that total stiffs always end up in tv?

An added bonus of watching those goals, especially the Honorable Mentions, is taking a look at the context of the goal. Lots of amazing goals in "garbage time."

Oh, also: Maxim Afinogenov and Jason Blake are two flat-out amazing players to watch.
