Mystery men
How depleted has free agency left some team's rosters? Well, after new GM Ray Shero executed some buyouts and declined options on a handful of others, the Pittsburgh Penguins' roster lists just 17 players at the moment. The team also has just one centreman — Sidney Crosby — which may or may not be a dead giveaway for Shero's plan to play his young star 60 minutes a night next season.

malkin, christensen, and talbot will all be there. not a bad group of u-23 centers. doesnt even include staal.
The interesting thing is that they have to get their payroll up to the league minimum of $28 million but right now they sit just over $16 million. I wonder if a New Jersey salary dump will somehow end up in Pittsburgh. How about Dan McGillis and Vladimir Malakhov to the Penguins for a bag of pucks (aka 7th round draft pick).
