All of this just a few blocks from where I live! I've actually walked through that park on my way to work and had no idea that there'd been a murder there although it's a bit rough.
There've been a few murders there... my 3rd year at Ryerson we did a project on Moss Park, the professor actually told us to go there late at night and during the project duration there was a murder.
But very cool, it is an interesting neighbourhood and I'm glad to hear something good actually happening there.
Used to play summer hockey at Moss Park Arena. And many years ago, back when I was at U of T, shinny as well.
It was in those days that a homeless guy, Cowboy Ned was his name, iirc, was crushed by a snowplow or a street cleaner as he slept by the curb right across from the rink.
Rough but interesting neighbourhood. During the TTC wildcat this summer I walked home (Danforth and Coxwell) through there. Lots of "characters".
Great bar too - Dominion on Queen - almost at the DVP.
That's my plug.
