Belfour gets in a dust-up
Florida Panthers netminder Ed Belfour has gained somewhat of a reputation for his off-ice antics throughout his career, and according to a story last night in the Palm-Beach Post, the gruff goalie just might be in a little trouble again:
Panthers goaltender Ed Belfour, who has gotten into trouble off the ice in the past, scuffled with teammates and bouncers early Friday at a nightclub attached to the hotel where the team was staying, according to two sources who witnessed the incident.Doesn't sound like anything much will come from the incident, and Belfour was in goal (and played quite well) for the Panthers loss in Long Island last night.
The Panthers' other goaltender, Alex Auld, was hurt later while they were "horsing around" in the hotel lobby, Belfour said Saturday. Auld needed an unspecified number of stitches for a cut over his right eye.
Besides, stories about The Eagle's wild nights are nothing new to hockey fans in this city.
