The GlobeSports roundtable

My old chum Dave Leeder hosted an NHL roundtable of's various hockey minds this afternoon, including Eric Duhatschek, William Houston, Allan Maki and others. An excerpt:
David Leeder: Do you think the introduction of a salary cap has helped the National Hockey League on and off the ice?

Eric Duhatschek writes: Unquestionably, the salary cap helped the game last year, mostly because it allowed almost all of the 30 teams to sell the single most important commodity in professional sport — hope.
Not a bad note to kick off the season on.
