Jones's final trip home

No, it's not a hockey story, but Al Maki's piece on former Winnipeg Blue Bomber Tyrone Jones is today's read of the day.

Speaking of the Grey Cup, the next week is going to be oh-so-heavy with Canadian football content. I'm going to be writing this weekend on both the Uteck and Mitchell Bowl games as the university season winds down, and the Globe and Mail has all three of Maki, Stephen Brunt and David Naylor reporting daily (hourly?) from Winnipeg in the lead-up to Sunday's CFL championship (Go B.C.!).

The Canadian Interuniversity Sport championship, the Vanier Cup, goes the following weekend in Saskatoon, with the Laval Rouge et Or, Saskatchewan Huskies, Ottawa Gee-Gees and Acadia Axemen all still in the running.

My money's on Laval.

"Garnet and Grey", not that one could expect a Queen's grad to have done any research. (Garnet is a colour, BTW.) It's cool, though -- your boys look FABULOUS in those neato all yellow uniforms. :-)
