Penny-pinching Ducks
How's this for an interesting salary-cap related tidbit about the Anaheim Ducks from Eric Duhatschek's blog this afternoon:
The fact that they have nine players on the roster earning $500,000 or less enables them to spend so heavily on their high-end players.As Duha notes, the Ducks are going for yet another record* tonight in Vancouver — which is beginning to become a bit of a ho-hum occurrence given how often it seems to be happening.

9 players is a little deceptive, since that figure includes Travis Green (yet to play a game) and Ian Moran (played one game).
Still, there's plenty of low-cost talent floating around Anaheim, that's for sure, and Burke has milked that pretty well.
Your scratches better be making the minimum Earl.
If you have guys making millions sitting in the press box you have a big problem.
