High-priced kindling

The world's oldest hockey stick is up for grabs:
About 150 years ago, it was a hunk of wood. These days, SportsNet describes it as the World's Oldest Hockey Stick and the single most important piece of hockey memorabilia. The Hockey Hall of Fame in Toronto notes that it predates the NHL by 60 years! It has been appraised at over $4 million USD!

For several years, the hockey stick has been on display and used for charitable promotions at Wayne Gretzky's in Toronto, ON.

150 years? Wow.

These days we're lucky if a stick makes it through regulation in one piece.

I wonder what the highest *legitimate* bid is going to be? Right now the bidding's up to $2.2 million ... but how many are real bids?
