Jays make offer to Wells: report

Yahoo Sports' Tim Brown is reporting tonight that the Toronto Blue Jays have a seven-year, $128-million deal on the table for Vernon Wells.

Thiss seems a bit high, but in a world where Sarge Lite gets $55 million over five years, it is only a bit high. It'll be interesting to see if this get done.

The Jays have obviously learned from the Delgado debacle... make an offer that Wells can't refuse without being painted by the hometown fans and media as a take-the-money-and-run type.

You can't let 2 superstars leave in such a short period time without public fallout... just ask the Minnesota Vikings.
