Metropolit's return home

Jody Vance had a nice story yesterday about Atlanta Thrashers forward Glen Metropolit's return to Toronto earlier in the week, something I read in, of all places, 24 Hours (one of those free daily commuter papers I try to avoid).

Metropolit's a great story all around, and it's nice to see him finally get a second shot at the NHL at age 32. He's got 15 points in 24 games so far this season, and is one of the league's best buys at just $500,000 a year against the cap.

I watched Metropolit rack up some goals with the LI Jawz (yup, roller hockey). It's great to see him as a regular NHLer all these years later.

Metro took a little while to learn the Thrashers system, but lately has been a treat to watch. Most of his points have come since mid-November really make his presence noticed lately.

I'm glad he's working out!
