Blogger bogged

Blogger was throwing a fit this morning/afternoon, which is the reason behind no Mirtle goodness so far today. Here's the company line on the outage:
Announcement: there is a scheduled outage for old Blogger next Tuesday, January 9th, from 7:45am-9:45am PST. You will not be able to post to old Blogger blogs or access any old Blogger blogs on Blog*Spot during this time. We also will not be allowing any new accounts or new blogs on new Blogger during this outage.
Things appear to be back up and running now, about three hours behind this scheduled outage's schedule.

(This site remains an 'old Blogger' blog due to the fact it is too large to convert to the new system. When you're this big, they call you 'old Blogger'.)

Hi, I know this doesn't have anything to do with today's topic (?) but I just wanted to get this resolved once and for all. First, let me quote Spectorshocke.net:

"If I'm understanding this correctly, Garrioch doesn't believe the league will allow the Leafs to drop the club option in order to re-sign him for less money starting next season. But it's a club option, meaning they don't have to pick it up if they don't want to. They could decline the option but make Sundin an offer for a new, long-term contract paying him less per season than $6.3 million. There's nothing that says Sundin has to accept but if he's receptive to that idea then it shouldn't be a problem. I've checked the CBA and haven't yet found anything saying this couldn't be done. Perhaps somebody can enlighten me further as to a specific clause in the CBA regarding this."

Doesn't Spector have a point? I heard that the NHL turned down some sort of request from the Leafs regarding the option on Sundin's contract but if its a club option, wouldn't the leafs just not pick it up and draw up a new one? If you have any info. on this I would be very grateful because there is a lot of confusion on this matter in the online hockey board community.
