The surprise? That they invented a country called "Slovenia" at some point. Was I asleep?

Slovenia.... Republic of Slovenia/Republika Slovenija, any way you care to phrase it, it's all the same and an official nation since 91' I believe. One would hope you've not been sleeping for 16yrs now. :)

I think Jason Blake's a fairly big surprise, but Nylander qualifies, too.

Go Lithuania! Zubrus has been converting 50% of his chances! There is a God!

The lack of Norwegian players in the NHL is made obvious by Patrick Thoresen's inclusion on that list.

France: Cristobal Huet
Does Huet have any assists this year!?

Japan: Yutaka Fukufuji
Ok, I know that's a stretch but he was called up for 1 game! :)

Huet has one assist! He's got more points than all the Danish players combined!

Watch out, Perezhogin....Nik Antropov is nipping at your heels with 11 pts in 18 games played.

For a #10 overall pick...

Who's now been in the league for 7 years....

*sigh*

If Antro weren't so brittle he would be running away with the Kazakh lead. At least Poni is still # 1.

Huet gets the nod — he's added.

There's a lawyer from Quebec that wants to have Quebec as a different team from Canada. Pretend this was possible and ignore the potential political messes, what a crop of young stars they would have.

Three Habs leading in any sort of scoring race at the same time...that's not a surprise, it's a miracle of Christ

Martin St. Louis would be Quebec's leading scorer, if that were a separate nation.

That post made me curious, so I took a look. Of the current Top 20 scorers, 12 are from Canada. Of those 12, three are from Quebec. Here are the 12 Canadians, with asterisks next to the Quebeckers:

SIDNEY CROSBY 65 points
*MARTIN ST. LOUIS 57
*VINCENT LECAVALIER 56
DANY HEATLEY 55
JAROME IGINLA 53
JOE THORNTON 53
MARC SAVARD 52
*DANIEL BRIERE 49
RAY WHITNEY 48
PAUL KARIYA 47
ROD BRIND'AMOUR 47
BRENDAN SHANAHAN 45

(Despite their names, both Savard and Brind'Amour are from English Canada (specifically, Ottawa).)

Let's go coast to coast - is Ryder in the Newfie lead?

I don't see how Frans Nielsen makes the list - isn't he tied with every single one of his countrymen?
