NHL to auction game-worn jerseys

The National Hockey League and the National Hockey League Players' Association are conducting a unique auction of game-worn jerseys with proceeds benefiting the Garth Brooks Teammates for Kids Foundation.

The 2007 Teammates for Kids Auction features jerseys worn by all players on each of the 30 NHL team rosters and will be available through the Teammates for Kids Auction on
Tonight is the first day of the charity promotion, and seven of the 20 teams in action tonight are wearing the jerseys with a patch.

Given that the league and PA will be auctioning off 600-plus jerseys from every single NHLer playing in these games, this is as good an opportunity as ever to get one of those obscure jerseys you've been hankering for.

Who wouldn't want a Brooks Laich jersey? Ron Hainsey, anyone?

His jersey from last night won't be up, unfortunately. It seems to only be the home teams that do it, kind of like last year's NHL Cares auction for Katrina.

Any bets on how high the Rory Fitzpatrick Jersey goes?
