Situation dire in Philly
The Flyers have been many things in their 40-year history, but worst in the league has never been on the list. Going into last night's game against the Islanders, the Flyers weren't just the worst team in the league. They were the worst team in the league by 12 points.Things have quickly gone from bad to unbelievably bad in Philadelphia this season. And this from a team that had 101 points last season, and was, up until midseason last year, one of the two or three best teams in the league
...the Flyers are 11-31-4 and on a pace to total around 45 points this season, which would easily establish a franchise record, breaking the previous low mark of 58 points in 1969-70. And they get a point for losing in overtime now.
Has the NHL ever seen a collapse that profound?
Thanks to Neate Sager for the heads up. And as he pointed out in his email, that 45-point pace would equal a far uglier total in earlier, non-shootout/overtime-point eras.

They need to do something drastic, like bring back those awesome pants they wore in the 70s
If they're going to bring back Cooperalls, they might as well bring back Rick MacLeish.
70's? C'mon, Cooperalls are so 80's.
Tim Kerr, then.
Why do Cooperalls get such a bad rap? They were cool. I had a pair, and I was AWESOME.
Hi my name is Nick also and I am looking desperately to find cooperalls in decent shape.....can any of you help me out?
