Breaking on out...
Here's a list over at Globe on Hockey on the Top 25 players who have improved their points per game over last season. Some, like Martin St. Louis and Jarome Iginla, are elite-level players who struggled last season, while others like Kevin "Jovo Jr." Bieksa and Zach Parise are youngsters on the rise.
This is the sort of list that poolies dream of having before the season begins — a look at who will surprise and post far better totals than the year before. Thomas Vanek, Vincent Lecavalier and David Legwand were guys I saw making that jump, but how about a player like Washington's Chris Clark, who no one saw coming?

Shouldn't Ruslan Salei get a nod?
05/06: 19 pts, 78 gms, .244 ppg
06/07: 28 pts, 53 gms, .528 ppg
That's a difference of .28, should put him about 14th on the list.
Ah, I was looking at players on pace for a minimum of 50 points (although Bieksa fell just out of that range after last night's game).
I'll make a note.
