Making a Messier
Is it just me, or is this whole Mark Messier wants Glen Sather's job business a bit blown out of proportion?
Talk about a non-story taking on a life of its own.

If you consider all the circumstances, it wasn't completely blown out of proportion. You have Sather, who has done a terrible job in his time in New York and has been incredibly absent from the New York media this season. Then you take Messier, who gets a rousing standing ovation every time he steps foot in front of a NY Crowd and he got Renney out of Vancouver. You put all that together with a frustrated fan base and a mediocre team and it creates a bit of a firestorm.

1) We have quite a different view point of Messier than the previous poster. You may still love Messier, but more and more NY-ers we talk with are sick and tired of him
2) We mentioned it today in our post on this subject:

Way too big a deal. Matt's mouth hasn't stopped foaming in days, for absolutely no reason.
This whole thing strikes me as typical Messier arrogance. If Messier's stint as player/G.M. here in Vancouver is any indication of his management skills the Rangers may want to offer Sather a DiPietro-esque extension.
