The not-so-special club
I hadn't realized this until now, but 56 games into the season, the woeful Philadelphia Flyers have had an unbelievable 42 different players suit up for them this season.
That makes me wonder just what the record is — because that's got to be awfully close.

Actually, the Flyers have used just 42 players this year. You counted the goalies twice.
Not sure what the record is but the Bruins used 43 last year so the Flyers still need to use at least one more player to catch them. Blues used 41 last year. Blackhawks have used 40 this year and 42 last year. It seems using 40+ players isn't that unusual. At least for bad teams.
At the other end of the spectrum Tampa has used just 24 players this year.
Being that we're only two-thirds of the way through the season, you have to think they'll shatter those marks set by other teams last year. (And that's without a ton of deals bringing in new bodies.)
I just couldn't believe how long the list of Flyers was; it appears to be nearly double most other clubs.
Yes, it seems they will definitely beat those teams. Especially if they are active in the trade market as we expect them to be. Chicago will likely make a few trades too. But, I can't see either of those teams breaking the record. It seems the all-time record is 55 players used by the 1991-02 Boston Bruins.
Of coruse that should read 1991-92.
Should that read 'of course'?
The 91-92 Sharks used 45 players, including BOTH Link Gaetz and Kevin Evans.
Yes, it should. Sometimes one hand types faster than the other. :)

NYR: 52
WSH: 51
Flyers:
It's 43 if you include G: MUNROE, SCOTT, who suited up for four games, but did not play.
