Sportsnet's deadline party a bust

Sportsnet's attempt to make its deadline show into a party didn't work. The necessity to produce good information and analysis was forgotten. Those problems clearly contributed to the show's 45-per-cent audience decrease.
Audience numbers were down all around, which is surprising given there was far more activity (in terms of significant players moved) this year than last time around.

The Sportsnet broadcast was a joke. TSN clearly has the most hockey talent so it is hard to compete but if you aren't going to take the trade deadline seriously they may have well shown bowling or dog shows or something.

With the overhaul that Sportsnet has done as a whole has made their product lacking in many areas. The deadline show was almost like a college frat house. Granted, we do that for the Podcast every week, but it's intentional.

It was loud, inane, sexist and stupid.
