You know it's a long one when...

Donald Brashear gets a shootout attempt (17th shooter) and Nick Tarnasky nets the winner (20th).

The 10-rounder tonight in Washington fell five rounds short of the record 15 (which was famously ended on Marek Malik's ridiculous between-the-legs deke on Olaf Kolzig).

Here's a thought. The first guy who is gonna become a start to finish Oiler for his entire career is probably going to be Fernando Pisani. Think about it.

The Rangers and Caps went 15 rounds during the record-making shootout session last season.

Is this the start of a new sad tradition for the Caps?
