2007 world championship
Team USA close to finalizing roster

The American entry at the 2007 world championship, which begins Friday in Moscow, added three additional players today in Ryan Suter, Adam Hall and netminder Jason Bacashihua, bringing the total number of players on the roster to 23 (and likely finalizing the team).

Four of those players — Cory Schneider, Jack Johnson, Erik Johnson and Nathan Davis — played in the NCAA this season, and several others, including Phil Kessel, David Backes and Paul Stastny, were NHL rookies.

In all, it's a team remarkably short on veterans, with just John Grahame and Chris Clark in the 30-and-over club.

Here's a look at the full roster (line combinations are my own):

Cole - Stastny - Clark
Bochenski - Arnason - Stempniak
Backes - Kessel - Hall
LaRose - Petersen - Davis

Ballard - Pothier
Suter - E. Johnson
J. Johnson - Greene
Alberts - Hutchinson

Grahame
Bacashihua
(Schneider)
