And we wait...

2007 Western Conference Semi-final - Game 2
Ducks 1, Canucks 1 (entering 2OT)
Anaheim leads series 1-0

There's something oh so familiar about this one. And as the seconds tick away in overtime period No. 1, you have to wonder just how long Roberto Luongo and Co. can hold out here. They've already been through the third-longest seven-game series in NHL history, but that's nothing compared to what's ahead if the Canucks plan on hanging around long enough to prove pundits wrong.

Because if Vancouver's going to have a hope of winning this series, it's going to be because of games like tonight, defensive marathons that would test any team's patience. It's all about waiting for a mistake — and so far, in overtime anyway, we haven't had one.

As always, no matter how late it gets, I'll be taking the rest of this one in.

Ice-time watch (after 80 minutes):
  1. Beauchemin 38:14
  2. Sopel 35:28
  3. S. Niedermayer 34:39
  4. Pronger 34:00
  5. Ohlund 32:41
  6. Krajicek 29:03
  7. R. Niedermayer 27:09
  8. Pahlsson 26:55
  9. Getzlaf 26:51
  10. Pyatt 26:07
34. Shannon 2:38
35. Parros 2:06
36. S. Thornton 0:58

The low minutes for the bottom of the Ducks' roster has made for bigger ones for their big guns, and we'll see as things go along here if that makes a difference or not.

The lowest-minute Canuck (Josh Green) has played just more than 11 minutes on the fourth line.
