In the news

I'm always floored when the mainstream press picks up this blog and quotes from it, but I guess that's all part of this strange new (media) world we're in.

The Columbus Dispatch, the main newspaper covering the Blue Jackets, chose to highlight Canadian coverage of GM Doug MacLean's ouster this weekend, and they quoted a portion of my late-night rambling in its pages.

As I said, surprising — and flattering.

Heh, they've lumped Mike Chen in on this "What they're saying in Canada" piece?

I love that story about the radio call in show.
That reminds me of Slapshot.
"Hey McLean, you old fart why don't you retire and give someone else a shot."

James- why should you be surprised? Your blog is one of THE go to hockey blogs on the net and clearly blogs are becoming the resources for hockey fans to get their news. I think you will see more "mainstream" press pick up the links from the blogsphere at lot quicker in hockey than other sports.

James, we are so starved for quality hockey reporting that we will even read you. All kidding aside, The Dispatch is a part owner of the CBJ, so they have to cite other opinions. That said, you were one of the few out there who did not ride the Doug MacLean bus and sing his praises. There are a lot of people in this town who bought Doug's bag of goods and only now are seeing that the NHL standings do have importance.
