A new Globe

Well, we've been putting this together for months, so I might as well put up a link. Here's a look at the front page, the sports section and an explanation from editor-in-chief Eddie Greenspon regarding The Globe and Mail's redesign, which was launched today.

Also new today are some additions to the website, including a 'My Globe' feature that takes a sort of Google Desktop approach to combining RSS feeds and customized contents.

Man, that new Sports front looks horrible. Talk about a massive copy block without any graphical elements, and no change in column width. Jail bars deluxe, man!

It's a shame, because the other sections looked very nice. Great use of art, white space, pullout quotes, etc.

But the Sports front looked awful.
