Red Wings battered heading into Round 2
Columbus Blue Jackets broadcaster Jeff Rimer just reported on the Fan 590 here in Toronto that both Kyle Calder and Mikael Samuelsson are nursing a broken hand after their first-round series with the Flames.
With Tomas Holmstrom, Brett Lebda and Niklas Kronwall already on the shelf, Detroit's injuries are starting to add up — and they're only six games into the postseason.

1) The bad part is those injured are some of the younger Wings. Team-Geriatric can't survive long in a battle of attrition
Am I the only one who'd rather not see Kronwall play? The guy's a defensive liability.
Quincey seems to fill in ok for an injured defenseman. Hopefully Lebda won't be out too long.
I have faith that Hudler can step up and fill in for an injured forward... It sucks that there's three guys injured up there, but if I had to pick 2 to pull out it would be Sammy and Calder. Hopefully Holmstrom's eye will stop bleeding and the 5th liners will step up!
Worst case scenario, the wings can't roll 4 lines.
Why is no one else reporting this? Are we to believe some reporter in Toronto knows more than the local guys who actually go to the practices? I call BS until I see it on a more trusted site, besides we all know how the wishful thinking thing works in Toronto.
Good question. I don't see anything about it in the Detroit Free Press
Just reporting what I heard fellas. He said he had an inside beat that these guys were nursing injuries but playing through it, so take that for what it's worth.
