Shake your bon-bon

...there will be a two-day break before the series resumes with Game 3 in San Jose next Monday.

The extra off-day is because the Shark Tank is booked on April 17 for a Ricky Martin concert. Game 4 in San Jose will be April 18.
The report doesn't indicate whether any Sharks or Predators are scheduled to attend the show.

Ricky Martin is still alive? I was pretty sure he fell off the face of the earth.

San Jose is huge for Spanish-language entertainers. Most of the radio stations are en espanol, moreso than other cities with larger Hispanic populations.

I've never been to San Jose except to go to sporting events...

Reminds me of last year, and the near-conflict with Dora the Explorer and the Oilers.

I'm sure Radulov will be there, given he'll have some time off.

I thought it is not too uncommon to let the teams take an extra day off between game 2 and 3 (travel required)? By the way, the arena couldn't have predicted that the Sharks wouldn't have home ice in Round 1, right? The team at one point overtook Anaheim in the Pacific, did they?

The arenas won't hold playoff dates for hockey teams, even if they have common ownership. The name of the game with owning an arena is to keep it busy as many nights of the year as possible, so you can bet they won't be turning down concert bookings if available. They'll just tell the league to work around the booking. Hell, look at Dallas last night -- basketball in the afternoon, hockey a few hours later, and arena football the following day. The money is not in owning the team, but rather in selling $5 Pepsis, luxury suite tickets, etc.

No, but they were in the running up through the last day. They also had a shot at taking home ice from Nashville, but never really at any point actually held it, just got really close.

I went to game one of their series last year against Edmonton - I recall leaving the building and hearing people talking about 'Anaheim' and 'the Battle for California' -- maybe this year...

Anyhow, every powerplay they do this arms-outreaching-garbage-compactor thing while the Jaws soundtrack is played - very weird. But I will definitely be back if the Canucks and them meet this year...

The Sens had a wacky Friday-Monday sked against the Sabres due to Dora, didn't they?

And the back-to-backs this weekend were due to Il Divo being booked into Scotiabank for last Friday.

1) So where is the rest of the old Sabres 'French connection? Or is Rick Martin performing by himself now? ; )
