Taking a look at the Under-18s

The world Under-18 hockey championship isn't a tourney that gets a lot of pub, in this country or elsewhere, but it's a precursor tournament to the world juniors and an event that a lot of scouts use to gauge the progress of young prospects.

This year's tournament begins April 11 in Tampere, Finland, and sportswriter/blogger Gare Joyce has some thoughts today on Canada's entry at the tournament. Former Chicago Blackhawks coach Trent Yawney will coach the Canadian club this time around.
