Canada's kangaroo court

Poor Mr. Nicholson. He and Hockey Canada chairman René Marcil tried to be polite. They tried to answer the questions. They tried to give information. They misunderstood the circus, during which the NDP and Liberals lobbed gratuitous partisan shots at the Conservatives. They misunderstood, too, that the circus was all about separatists playing racial politics, egged on by a separatist sportswriter at a Montreal newspaper. ...

The Bloc's performance yesterday was predictable. The party uses these tactics to stoke resentments in Quebec. The Liberal and NDP performances, by contrast, were disgusting. The Conservative effort was anodyne and weak, since none of their MPs would call a halt to the kangaroo court that made the Commons look like an ass.

Sigh. Only in Canada do the politicians use hockey as a political vehicle. Political posturing in this country makes me want to puke at times.

Do we really have to vote for members of these clown parties? Really mommy, do we??

Simpson was right on the mark with his comments. These guys are all tools. On the plus side, I understand PM Harper took the time to phone Doan (phone/doan/he was not at home/ ... hmmm) and offer his support. One hopes the conversationwas along the lines of" Screw 'em all. Win. Go Canada."

Also, apparently Rene Fasal from IHF chimed in and essentially called all the politicos involced a bunch of jerks. For a guy who typically doesn't really get the picture, he was certainly on the mark here.
