Ray Emery, TV star

Emery appeared on The Best Damn Sports Show Period earlier this week, marking the first time I think I've seen an NHL player on the show.

Jeremy Roenick (who else) has been on there a bit before. I think Brett Hull has before too.

Ron Tugnutt, too.

I believe there was a skit involving Tom Arnold, a goalie drill and a doughnut.

Is it too obvious to point out that Emery has A: personality; and B: um, pigmentation?
He's perfect.
With all due respect to guys like JS Giguere (and his painful Tonight Show appearace after ANA's last trip to the Finals) and most interviews with Iron Curtainers and Finns, they come across to American sports fans as "too foreign," while the vast majority of English-Canadian players are so boring even hockey fans hate listening to their interviews. The Swedes, while they mostly speak impeccable English, are so reserved they make Canadians look like Americans.
Here's who I'd trot out:
Jarome. How this guy isn't the face of My New NHL speaks to the failure of the league's marketing dept.
Georges. Breaks the accent rule but he's an interesting personality and he's got the tan.
Pronger. Willing to say stuff.
Shanahan. Wacky.
Chelios. Fearless.
Avery. Reckless.
McCarty. Character.
Souray. Articulate.
OV. Breaks the Euro rule but he's compelling because he wants so bad to be a pimp daddy.
Havlat. Another Euro but he speaks well and the chicks dig him.

I have to say your reasoning for Havlat is hilarious...good call Anonymous #2
