The cost of the Predators

Prime Time Sports, a radio program here in Toronto on the Fan 590, just had Jim Balsillie's lawyer, Richard Rodier, on the air for a good hour-long chitchat. Among the more revealing things Rodier offered up was the fact that Balsillie's purchase price for the Nashville Predators was more than the $220-million previously reported.

Now, he also stated that the price wasn't much north of that figure, but it's safe to say we're looking at the $230- to $235-million range.

Forbes valued the franchise at $134-million in November, 2006.
