Kerr named B.C.'s top coach
Grant Kerr is as comfortable behind the bench and he is behind a laptop computer. The long-time Globe and Mail sportswriter is receiving the Ernie Gare Award as B.C. Hockey's coach of the year for the 2006-07 season. Kerr guided the Vancouver North West Giants to the B.C. Major Midget Hockey League championship and a berth in the Telus Cup, the national midget championship tournament. Kerr has been coaching amateur hockey in British Columbia since 1978.
Congrats to Grant.
