More on the Blog Box

Deadspin's post on an interview with an Islander PR fellow today regarding the team's plan to invite bloggers to games is a riot (although I'm not sure why my name came up there more than once):
We show up in the Blog Box for the first game, and, the next morning, we write, "The New York Islanders are not only the worst hockey team we've ever seen, but everyone who works for them is ugly and we think we saw Bryan Trottier molesting a puppy." (Or, say, link to this.) You gonna kick us out of the blog box for that? Or take out our link? We think it's reasonable if you would, but we're just asking: Where is that line, if it exists?

I think we'll know the line when we see it. But if we tank on opening night and everyone wants to flail away, so be it. We're not going to take down any links.
I will say this: The only reason I'd ever apply to go to the Blog Box would be to write about its existence (and maybe to have a pretzel).

Let's put that on the schedule for 2007-08.

Are you allowed to blog live on an event that is supposed to be broadcast live, but the NHL and Verus screw up? Does that still infringe upon the broadcaster rights? The awards ceremony certainly show that the bloggers have their act together better than the NHL.
