Take me out to the ballgame...

Caught the Blue Jays/Dodgers game earlier tonight. There was a bit of NHL-related action, as Mike Cammalleri was on hand, wearing Team Canada colours while throwing out the "first pitch" about ten minutes before the game.

At that point, there were (I kid you not) probably 2,000 fans in the cavernous Rogers 'Dome. The record shows 20,763 more showed up to watch this massacre, a 10-1 drubbing of the hometown club that showcased half the team's "Who's that?" bullpen.

Cammalleri should have stuck around longer; the Jays could have used him considering the trainwreck of a night that starter Dustin McGowan put together: 1.2 innings, eight hits and six earned runs given up.

It was ugly. It's a good thing Frank Thomas is here because this season has 'Big Hurt' written all over it.

And I think I was the only one there who knew who Cammalleri was.

Now, now. I was there too and judging from the comments of those around me, they all knew the name.

Plus, every team throws out a stinker from time to time. Gibbons might be done now, though.

Apparently, the Jays are having a hard time getting fans to the park. How about a trade? Send Raliegh-Durham the Jays(there are lot more actual Jaybirds in NC than Ontario, also baseball fans) and the Triangle will send Canada(Wiinipeg, QC, or Ontario) the Canes. I love hockey, but teams should play where they're truly appreciated.

Some of us wanted "Boomhauer" Gibbons gone last season.

Were you the youngest person in the ball park?
Isn't it just geezers that watch baseball in Canada anymore?
I agree, the Hurricanes for the Jays.
