Chelios's off-season routine
You arrive in this idyllic setting hoping to find the fountain of youth. Paradise Cove, they call it, and the view from Chris Chelios' beachfront property certainly doesn't argue.Nice off-season piece by the newspaper, and good on them for sending a reporter/photographer team all the way out to Malibu for it.
But if you're expecting to see Chelios, the second-oldest active player in major U.S. professional sports, sipping from some restorative spring, you're bound to be disappointed.

Hard to believe this will be Chelios' 8th season in Detroit. He has been a Red Wing longer than he was a Hab, and he may be a Wing longer than he was a Blackhawk.
i congratulate the Montreal Canadiens on dumping that washed up bum in 1990 for a used bag of pucks and a token local hero.
Bravo Serge Savard, Bravo Ronald Corey.
it's decisions likke that that have helped the Habs become as dominant in recent years as the Ballard era Leafs.
Interesting to see that he works out with Bill Romanowski, who is widely thought to have been on steroids, and faced (performance enhancing) drug charges at one point.
And the Habs won a Cup in '93, without Chelios and *with* Denis Savard.
Are you implying better living through chemistry Mathieu ? Wonder what Dick Pound would have to say on this.
NHL supposedly tests for steroids, don't they ?
