Fedotenko an Isle
TFP has learned that the New York Islanders have signed unrestricted free agent winger Ruslan Fedotenko to a one-year contract.
The native of Kiev, USSR (Russia) will earn $2.9 million next season.
Slava Kozlov re-signing in Atlanta is the day's other big move so far. I'll update the 'who's left' list here shortly.

Brendan Morrison has 30-goal potential, but that doesn't mean he'll actually score 30 goals.
This is another overpay move by the Isles, who obviously grasped the first straw they could. Yes, Fedo is a decent 3rd line type who can chip in a few goals, but he's nowhere near a $2.9mil player.
Overpaying on a one year contract is something the Islanders should be doing at this point. There's no way they can reach the salary cap by signing players who are actually worth what they are paying, and one year contracts have no impact on future years. Snow should be looking to throw huge piles of cash at the best players left.
