Isles get Comrie
On the heels of adding four-time NHL Star-Bill Guerin, the Islanders have signed center MIKE COMRIE to a one-year contract. The 26-year old Comrie had 20 goals and 25 assists for 45 points in 65 games last season with Phoenix and Ottawa.Garth Snow keeps on buying from the leftover bin. I'd seen a number of sources, including today's Ottawa Sun, that the Islanders had really wanted Comrie, who was waiting to receive an offer from the Senators before acting.
That, apparently, never came, and Comrie's this team's new No. 1 centre.
UPDATE Newday's Greg Logan has the terms: it's a one-year deal worth $3.375-million.
