It finally happened. NashvillePost.com has learned that after weeks of circling the Nashville Predators, a local investor group landed on Craig Leipold's doorstep yesterday morning and made him a formal offer for the team. Multiple sources have confirmed this news on the condition of anonymity.

it would be supremely ironic if Balsillie AND del Biaggio fail to aquire the Preds.
Did the former minority partners of the Montreal Expos suddenly move to Tennessee?
Oh sure - I've seen those type of purchase offers before. They usually involve the purchasers only putting in 10% equity and requiring the vendor to take back 90% financing at below market interest rates for the next 20 years!!!
They know it will be rejected but allows the locals to say they tried to save the franchise for Nashville!!
Balsillie and del Baggio have nothing to worry about.
