Roenick: Not done yet
Contrary to an earlier report, Phoenix Coyotes center Jeremy Roenick has not decided to retire from the NHL.
According to a statement issued Monday to The Hockey News.com by his agent, Neil Abbott, Roenick “is considering all of his options, including retirement, (but) has made no final decision.”

Back in chicago for next to nothing I bet
...helping the Hawks to another last-place finish...
...signs in Toronto for $1.5M... hahahahahaha....
He may not have retired but no one is going to sign him so it amounts to the same thing.
So...a pithy text message from a guy known for his mouth is not to be taken as gospel. Never change, Jeremy...
1) Thats a joke, right? Roenick, like several other notables needs to finally do all of us a favour and make it official.
2) He had a very nice career, especialy if you forget about the past 3 years or so. We did a post last month listing a bunch of folks who SHOULD retire: http://newfaux.blogspot.com/2007/06/early-free-agent-analysisrumors-part_13.html
Eklund seems to think Nashville would be a possible destination. As a Nashville fan, i actually have mixed feelings about that one. Could be really good for us to have that amount of press coverage. Could also be very bad to have that kind of press coverage.
Oh, I'd love to see what Timmy P has to say for himself today. I doubt he'll get any more text message "scoops" from JR.
Eklund thinks?
He's five goals shy of 500. Why not come back, play a fourth line role with someone, get his 500, retire without feeling like he left things unfinished? If I were a basement dwelling team I'd sign him for league minimum.
