Vishnevski joins Devils
The Devils have signed free agent defenseman Vitaly Vishnevski, Devils' CEO/President/GM Lou Lamoriello announced Tuesday.I think it's fair to assume the team will be looking to add at least one additional defenceman, and the Devils are one of the teams being mentioned in the mix for a potential trade with Vancouver.
Vishnevski, 27, recorded three goals and 10 assists in 67 games split between Nashville and Atlanta last season. He finished the 2006-07 campaign with the Predators after being acquired in a February deal that sent forward Eric Belanger to the Thrashers.
Defencemen now on New Jersey's roster: Colin White, Karel Rachunek, Johnny Oduya, Richard Matvichuk, Paul Martin, Vitaly Vishnevski, Andy Greene.

I wonder what this means for their plans regarding Souray?
I think they're out of the Souray bidding war, but we'll see. The Sharks and Isles have a lot more cap room if they really want him, and supposedly they do.
But Lou always has something up his sleeve. Except for a coach.
Richard Matvichuck eh?
